Chris Chalk in Aviation Practice Leader for Mott MacDonald and has worked on aviation projects in over 50 countries and is widely recognised an industry expert. He is also the Chairman of the British Aviation Group (BAG), the UK’s leading trade association for the aviation sector. Chris led the Mott MacDonald team that structured the first airport concession in Russia (St Petersburg), the first airport concession in Africa (Kilimanjaro), and the overseas funded airports in Turkey including Istanbul, Ankara, Antalya, Izmir and Dalaman. He has an ongoing role in the planning of the 50mppa 3rd Runway program in Hong Kong and Terminal 5 for Changi as well as overseeing the highly successful operations at the new Quito international airport. Chris’ has particular expertise in airport privatisation and concessions working for vendors, investors, regulators and lenders. Much of his work is focussed around development of affordable business cases and the concept of value proposition.
